Blog No.3 - My Explanation

GENERAL

Ok so this is my third blog I've started up now!
- Travel Blog: jemmagoldtravels.blogspot.com
- Nerd Blog: reasonswhyiamanerd.blogspot.com

My reasoning behind blog no.3 is that my A Levels are rapidly approaching, my first being on May 11th, and as excited as I am for my post-exam travels, I have to get through the revision period first. As inspired by The History Girl (known blogs: History (A Level) - thehistorygrrl.blogspot.co.uk | English Language & Literature (A Level) - eq-ot.blogspot.co.uk | African History (Uni Finals) - africanhistoryblog.wordpress.com), I have decided to set up a blogging platform in which to post all of my revision material, not only for my benefit but also to help others in similar subjects.

All of my A Levels are a mix of specs, exam boards and faculties (kinda):
o Classics: Ancient History (AS & A2 - final year of this spec) OCR
o English Literature (A2 linear - 2nd year of this spec) Edexcel
o German (A2 linear - 1st year of this spec) AQA

In this blog, I will be outlining the specs and areas of each exam which I will then specify in the titles for each separate revision post! There are 3 exams for English, 3 for German and 4 (2 AS & 2 A2) for Ancient History. Here are my aims for my A Levels:

WHAT I NEED FOR UNI:
B - Ancient History
B - German
C - English Literature

WHAT I'M AIMING FOR:
High B/A - Ancient History
B - German
B/C - English Literature

Ideally my aim is for ABB with an A in Ancient History as that is part of my degree but I know my German needs to take priority over English slightly as I require a B in a MFL in order to take up Italian at beginners level joint honours.

So now all my goals have been set out and I've sort of described how this blog will work, on to the title. The title comes from an inside joke I've had with friends and families since GCSEs. We all came up with back up plans in case we failed - some went for the classics like 'stripper' or 'bin man' but my plan was to go live in Peru on an Alpaca farm. This blog will hopefully be the antidote to this back up plan becoming my reality as I know it helped The History Girl to get the grades she wanted so I'm hopping for similar results!

Rightio - I'll be back soon with some ACTUAL revision material!!

Sincerely, Jemma x

EXAM CRAM - The Night Before . . .

ENGLISH LITERATURE (PAPER 1) - DRAMA (ASND & OTHELLO) Hi all, so its the night before my first English Lit exam and I thought I'd give a little insight into how I'm cramming my time! So originally my plan for today looked like this: (insert photo) However that didn't go exactly to plan for several reasons: 1) I was late to college so couldn't start my exam revision period at exactly 10 2) I was planning on meeting my boyfriend after his maths exam but I got confused with the times, thinking his exam was 2 hours instead of 1 1/2. This realisation meant that I only managed half an hour of revision time this morning 3) I then got distracted and went back to my boyfriend's house instead of staying in the library like I should've which meant I couldn't make up for my first revision period however I did manage to complete a full study period from 12-1:30 when I got to his 4) I then got distracted AGAIN for my 3rd planned revision session...
